Nokia has just released new firmware for Nokia E66 and the new version is 210.21.07. The update is confirmed to be out for Asia and Euro region product codes now.

OVI Theme

Thanks to whatleydude for providing the OVI theme, For the first time I saw sounds in the theme and I love them. It also has a Flash Screensaver but with 240 x 320 screen resolution which works fine on my N95 8GB.

Windows 7: Device Stage and Nokia

Windows 7 Device Stage Supports Nokia 5800 Xpress Music, N85, N95 8GB according to
Microsoft has published a list. But when I tried by connecting my N95 8GB to Windows 7 it asked for drivers, Then I installed the PC suite and I was wondering why the Device Stage support had gone, the other day when I connected my N95 GB and accidentally selected Media Player and found the Windows 7 Device Stage Supports My Nokia phone

Copying text from s60 web browser

I think it is one of the most important feature that a s60 mobile must have. I was waiting for Nokia to add this feature to the browser. But thanks to the Nokia Multiscanner and Screenshot applications which solved my requirement of copying text from browser. Just take the screenshot of the page from which u want to copy text and open that Image from Nokia Multiscanner and it gives you the text from that image.

Google Talk, Labs Edition

There’s a new flavor of Google Talk: the Labs edition, a desktop client that looks very similar to the Google Talk gadget and has most of its features. The application doesn’t support voice chat or file transfer, it’s still Windows-only, but it has some new features: it lets you launch Google Calendar and Orkut, while including notifications for Google Calendar events and Orkut scraps. The new Google Talk uses WebKit to render some parts of the interface.

I don’t find too many reasons why someone would switch from the full-featured client to the Labs edition: group chats, smilies, tabs, while the missing features are more important. A better decisions would have been to integrate these new features in the desktop client, instead of releasing a separate application. Now we have four different flavors of Google Talk: the original client, Gmail Chat, the gadget and the Labs edition.

JoikuSpot turns Nokia Smartphones to WLAN HotSpots

JoikuSpot is a free mobile software solution that turns Nokia Smartphones to WLAN HotSpots.

JoikuSpot software is installed directly to the phone. When switched on, laptops and ipods can establish instant and fast wireless internet connection via smartphone’s JoikuSpot access point using phone’s own 3G internet connection.

Multiple devices can connect to JoikuSpot in parallel and seamlessly share the same 3G internet connection. JoikuSpot acts thus as an internet gateway to external WLAN devices.

JoikuSpot Light is in BETA phase, and has not been fully tested against all possible device combinations. JoikuSpot has been successfully tested with phones listed in the download section.

Please make sure that you have the latest firmware on the phone. You can easily update it with Nokia Software Updater.

Known issues:

-JoikuSpot might also work with E60 with new hardware version. With older hardware the JoikuSpot is created, but for unknown reason the connection to internet is disconnected after 10 seconds. If you manage to successfully use JoikuSpot with E60, please let us know. Please also deliver your hardware version, you can get it with *#0000#

-JoikuSpot has been tested successfully with several laptops: Fujitsu-Siemens, Apple Macbook, Dell, HP and new IBM models seem to work well. With older IBM laptops (at least T40P) the connection is not working. The reason behind is the WLAN chipset that the older IBM series is using.
